Can someone explain to me the different mounts for the BMD cameras?

I'm very new to all this and am studying DR using the BMD training books (which are FANTASTIC!). My main interest is in post-production, but wouldn't mind dabbling in camera work as a side interest/hobby. I've been looking at some of the BMD cameras, and have no idea what the pros/cons are for each type of lens mount.
